Lambton College Takes Home Two International Awards

Lambton College is being recognized on the international level for its outstanding efforts in applied research and student achievement.

The college was honoured with two awards during the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics International Awards of Excellence, which took place in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain, from June 15-17.

Andrea Prins, a Lambton College student in Business and Accounting, was awarded the gold medal for Outstanding Student Achievement. As the president of Enactus Lambton, Prins has been working with First Nations across Canada to develop agricultural and entrepreneurial initiatives designed to reduce food insecurity and provide business and employment opportunities.

Lambton College was also awarded a bronze medal in the Applied Research and Innovation category for demonstrating excellence in addressing real-world challenges through applied research.

Lambton’s Research and Innovation team is comprised of 240 staff, 222 research students, and 88 recent graduates. During the 2021-2022 fiscal year, the team tackled 297 research projects, earning nearly $15 million in research revenue.
