As efforts to push back against the proposed landfill project in Dresden continue, municipal officials are holding a public meeting tonight to provide information and answer questions.

Interested residents are invited to attend the information meeting for an update on the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s actions to fight against the redevelopment of a dormant landfill on Irish School Road.

While there have not been any major developments, officials say they will provide details on the ongoing advocacy efforts with provincial officials and the limited information that has been received to date from York1 Environmental Waste Solutions regarding its proposed project.

Staff will answer questions submitted earlier this month through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website, and will be available to speak with residents one-on-one following the formal presentation.

Tonight’s meeting runs from 6 until 8 at the Ken Houston Agricultural Centre.
