A low-rated tornado has been confirmed to have occurred southwest of Pain Court.
The Northern Tornadoes Project said an EF0 landspout tornado formed in Bagnall on June 20.
A ground and drone survey team conducted a search for damage on June 21, but none could be found and no injuries were reported. However, after video and photos provided by witnesses, the tornado was assigned an “EF0-Default” rating.
Due to a lack of information, the Northern Tornadoes Project was unable to accurately estimate track length, path width and tornado motion. A nearby funnel cloud was also reported, though there was no evidence of vortex contact with the surface.
The Northern Tornadoes Project was founded at Western University in 2017 to better detect tornados throughout Canada and improve severe and extreme weather understanding.
