A major clean-energy manufacturing investment could be coming to Chatham-Kent.
According to the municipality, Canadian Energies has identified Chatham-Kent as the destination for the proposed manufacturing opportunity, which is being featured as part of the Canadian Investment Summit taking place in Toronto this week.
“We’re excited to see Chatham-Kent recognized at a national investment summit and to have our community selected for this project,” said Mayor Darrin Canniff in a news release. “This project would represent the largest single investment ever made in Chatham-Kent. We’re proud of what our community has to offer. The work we have been doing to grow and promote C-K has earned us recognition on the global stage for investment.”
CK officials have not released additional details about the potential investment, but added that the project would require approval from the provincial and federal governments. It would also require municipal consideration by Chatham-Kent Council.
Canadian Energies is a clean energy manufacturer that specializes in battery energy storage systems, solar manufacturing, and data centre infrastructure.
