Last day to file nomination papers

It’s deadline day for anyone still thinking of running in Chatham-Kent’s upcoming municipal election.

Nominating papers, including 25 endorsement signatures and a filing fee, must be submitted by 2 o’clock this afternoon for anyone running for council or the mayor’s seat. The same applies to those hoping to become a school board trustee, minus the endorsements.

The fee to run for Chatham-Kent council or a school board trustee is $100, $200 for mayoral candidates.
