A Chatham furniture store is spreading the Christmas spirit by making the holidays a little easier for local families.
The Leon’s store in Chatham has purchased all of the remaining Christmas trees from the Scouts tree lot to donate them to families in need.
Each year the Chatham 19th Scouts sell Christmas trees as a fundraiser to support the club’s activities throughout the year. For the last several years, Ken and Sean Edwards of Leon’s have supported the Scouts through the bulk purchase of all unpurchased trees to give away, free of charge.
Trees can be picked up from the Scouts tree lot on St. Clair Street, just north of Oxley Drive.
