With the federal election just five months away, the federal liberal party has its candidate in place in Sarnia-Lambton.

Carmen Lemieux has been acclaimed to the post, taking on incumbent Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu.

Lemieux spent her career in communications with Dow Chemical and education before retiring, and believes the Liberal Party has done the most to help families in the area.

The Green Party of Sarnia-Lambton will be holding its own nomination next month.

Canadians head to the polls October 21st.
