The local public school board has elected new leadership.
Trustees for the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) elected Kelley Robertson as chair and David Shortt as vice-chair during the board’s annual organization meeting on Tuesday.
“The Lambton Kent District School Board has a proud tradition of fostering inclusive, innovative and student-centred education,” said Robertson in a news release. “We are shaping the future through the work we do for our students, staff and communities… I am committed to building on this foundation to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential in a supportive and equitable learning environment.”
Robertson has served as vice chair since November 2023 and will replace outgoing Chair Randy Campbell.
“We are here for student success while they are within our board and as they navigate the future ahead of them and that is what I pledge to continue moving towards,” said Shortt.
Both Robertson and Shortt were first elected as trustees in 2022.
