That’s according to Lambton Kent District School Board Director of Education Jim Costello, who says class sizes have an impact on rural high schools.
“It’s pretty evident the government is highly focused on fiscal restraint and balancing a new budget. they’ve made it clear we’re going to get less money in April when we get our grants for student needs,” says Costello. “There are some concerns around class sizes in our rural schools where we already don’t have a lot of elective courses available for our students. Our challenge will be to continue to provide great courses for our students.”
Costello says the details haven’t been worked out yet but fewer teachers means fewer courses that can be offered.
