The Lambton Kent District School Board will be heading into the 2017-18 school year in the black.
Trustees approved a balanced budget for the next year, totaling over $291-million.
The budget was based on a projected enrollment of 21,482 students, including over 14,000 elementary kids, and just over 7000 high school students.
Heading into the fall, the board will employ over 2300 full time staff.
The document includes modest wage increases and support for staff professional development, support for special education students, and funding for student transportation and community use of schools.
Also factored in is over $31.7 million for school improvements, facilities renewals, and capital projects.
