The Lambton Kent District School Board is saying thanks to its high school students and staff for their efforts in trying to take a provincial literacy test.
The EQAO test- which was voluntary, was abruptly cancelled yesterday.
Thousands of students across Ontario were in the midst of writing when the problems cropped up.
The test was meant to serve as a trial of the technical readiness of the EQAO and the schools to support online assessments.
However, shortly after the test got underway, the agency posted a tweet saying it was being cancelled due to technical issues and apologized to participating schools and students for the failure.
Officials with the local public board say everything worked extremely well on their end, and all of the students’ work has been submitted to the EQAO.
In a statement on the LKDSB website, the board says it will continue to dialogue with EQAO about how the OSSLT will be assessed and what will happen with the results.
