A Chatham-based manufacturer is extending its reach.

Dajcor Aluminium is opening a new facility in Kentucky, however President and CEO Mike Kilby says it won’t have an impact on local operations.

“In fact we continue to invest in this facility, we still have room for growth here and we expect further group in this facility  this is just a sister company that will do what we do here, and hopefully as effectively as we do here. These folks have been a big part of the success of this company to date and this is just a further extension of the business,” says Kilby.  “There’s a lot of demand for automotive components in Tennessee, this will extend our reach and is very complementary with what we do already, this will extend our reach further into the us and make us more competitive in that area.”

Kilby says the new facility will cost in the neighbourhood of $20-million, and is expected to be up and running by the end of the year.
