Local Principal Wins Provincial Award

A huge honour for a local educator as St. Angela Merici Catholic School Principal Julie Faubert has been named the provincial Principal of the year.

The award handed out by Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario.

Faubert began her career as a classroom teacher in 2003 and 7 years later moved into the principals office.

“Our principals are gifted and faith-filled leaders in their school communities,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education. “On behalf of our entire Board, I want to extend my congratulations to Juli in achieving this provincial recognition.”

It is a privilege and an honour to be chosen by my colleagues for this award,” says Ms. Faubert. “I am grateful to belong to a community of principals that support each other and our vision for Catholic education in our schools. I thank them for their collaboration and their encouragement in my journey as a principal.”

She has led three schools, and this past year took over the new school and helped bring three former catholic school communities together in a new state of the art facility.
