A community toy and food drive aimed at helping those in need returns this weekend for its second year.
Local residents have been gathering donations for The Gift CK over the last month ahead of Community Collection Day on Saturday. All donations left on your front porch will be picked up by volunteers throughout the day starting at noon.
The Gift CK aims to benefit as many people in Chatham-Kent as possible, with donations going to numerous charitable groups throughout the municipality.
The event was created last year in response to the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the campaign raised over $3 million worth of gifts in one day thanks to thousands of donors in Chatham-Kent.
