Indian Creek Road Public School teacher Brian Aspinall’s work with his grade 7/8 students has garnered him some national attention.
Aspinall is being awarded a Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence Certificate of Achievement. He thinks it’s his work with computer science and coding that got him noticed.
“I’m very passionate about that, having studied it myself,” says Aspinall. “I see a direct relationship to math… and I think what may of set it apart was the work I do with computer science and the awareness I bring.”
Aspinall is just one of ten teachers in the province to receive such an award this year.
