A special gift from a group of philanthropic women in Chatham-Kent.
The 100+ Women Who Care Chatham-Kent recently donated $11,175 to the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent earmarked for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The Imagination Library provides free books to children up to five years old. Officials with the Kiwanis Club say this donation will provide books for more than 200 kids over the next year.
Members of 100+ Women Who Care Chatham-Kent meet four times each year to vote on which charitable organization they would like to donate to next. Each member contributes $100 to donation.
Since its inception in 2016, the group has donated a total of $459,475, spread across 35 local charitable programs in the community.
