Three young people from Chatham-Kent have found summer jobs at the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority thanks to several grants.
The Summer Experience Program through the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry provided over $6000 for two CK students to work at the Administration Office in Chatham. These positions involved land stewardship projects, tree planting, wetland restoration, and GIS mapping.
Another grant was given to the Conservation Authority by Goodwill Career Focus to create a general labourer position at the Longwoods Road Conservation Area.
These grants give students valuable work experience, and their work contributes to the research and development of the conservation programs.
