In an effort to spur usage and reduce costs for families, Chatham-Kent ice time is getting cheaper. 
Council approved a two year test project that includes a 15% reduction for prime ice time and a 10% reduction for non-prime ice.
Another recommendation is to set the cost for un-booked ice to one hundred dollars.
Councillor Doug Sulman added an amendment to see interim reports brought back after year one and two.
Staff expect the changes to potentially cost up to 240-thousand annually and that would come from a reserve.
