Relationship troubles have led to charges for a Chatham man.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham home shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday following a heated argument between a man and a woman who were in an on-and-off dating relationship.

Authorities said the man went to the woman’s home uninvited, which led to the argument, and he left the home before officers arrived.

Authorities arrived at the scene and found that the woman’s vehicle had been damaged and that she had received a series of threatening text messages.

A 37-year-old Chatham man was later located and arrested. He is now charged with one count each of mischief and uttering threats. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
