A Chatham man has been arrested following the choking assault of a woman.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Chatham address on Tuesday at around 7 a.m., after a man was seen choking a woman and forcing her to the ground.
Authorities said the victim showed visible injuries when officers arrived, but she declined medical assistance.
A 53-year-old Chatham man has been charged with one count of assault, and he was held in custody for a bail hearing.
