Charges have been laid after a local man allegedly assaulted his partner.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham home on Tuesday at around 7 a.m. following an altercation between two people.
Authorities said the victim was able to leave the home and seek help from a nearby resident before police arrived.
Following an investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
