A 46-year-old Chatham man is facing charges  for allegedly impersonating a police officer.

On January 14, 2015, Chatham-Kent police received complaint from a Wallaceburg couple after they purchased a set of speakers from a Kijiji ad.  They met with the seller and at that time he presented himself as an officer, wearing what appeared to the couple as a law enforcement uniform.

The next day police received a similar complaint of a man attending a local business attempting to sell speakers, while wearing a law enforcement style jacket.

Police determined the identity of the man and conducted a search warrant on his residence where police say they found law enforcement jacket was seized.
