
An alleged thief has been arrested following a scuffle with police officers in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Sylvester Drive on Wednesday, just before 1 a.m., after receiving a report about a man going through vehicles in the area.
The suspect was located in the area and was arrested after allegedly struggling with officers.
The 53-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and trespassing at night. He was later released with a July court date.
