An Ingersoll woman is facing several charges following a disturbance on New Year’s Day.

Shortly after 8 o’clock Monday morning, police were called to a Jeffrey Street home and say a man and woman had been arguing when the woman allegedly struck the man with a wooden board, causing minor injuries.

Authorities say the accused was already under a peace bond and probation order banning her from possession any kind of weapon.

She was arrested and later released with conditions, including not attending the Jeffrey Street property or communication with the victim. However, police say after being released from custody, the woman immediately returned to the house.

The 26-year-old was arrested for a second time and held for a bail hearing. Charges against the accused include assault with a weapon, failing to comply with a probation order, breach of recognizance, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
