A 22 year old man unsuccessfully attempted to flee from police this morning. A homeowner called 9-1-1 after spotting a man walking between properties on Highbury Crescent in Wallaceburg around 4:30 AM. Officers approached the man but he took off. After a short foot pursuit the man was arrested and searched. The man was in possession of a replica semiautomatic handgun and pot. Officers also learned he was prohibited to have weapons as a result of court ordered conditions from a prior offence. He’s facing several charges including resisting arrest and drug possession.
