A Chatham man is facing charges after a fight with his girlfriend turned violent.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Houston Street address in Chatham on Wednesday at around 5 a.m. for a domestic dispute.
Following an investigation, officers determined that a man had grabbed his girlfriend by the throat during an argument. The man then proceeded to throw a glass bottle at his girlfriend’s car, causing damage.
As a result, a 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of mischief under $5,000. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
