
Charges have been laid following the theft of an e-bike in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a man parked his e-bike outside of a business on Wellington Street West on October 18 and entered the store. Upon exiting, he discovered that the vehicle had been stolen.
Police obtained CCTV footage from the area, which captured the theft, and a suspect was identified. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
A 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located on Tuesday and arrested. He is now charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
He was later released with conditions and a December court date.
