Charges have been laid after a man forced his way into a Chatham home and assaulted a resident.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Wellington Street residence at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday regarding an unwanted person.
Authorities said a man had gone to the home and gained entry by pushing past the resident. No further details about the incident have been released, but no injuries were reported.
As a result, a 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault, forcible confinement, and being in a dwelling unlawfully. He was later released from custody with a July court date.
