
A local man is facing charges after allegedly stabbing another man as he slept.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Thames Street residence in Chatham on February 25 shortly before 11 a.m. and found a man suffering multiple stab wounds to his legs.
Following an investigation, officers learned that the victim was asleep in a bedroom when another man stabbed him three times in the legs with an edged weapon. The accused then left the residence in a cab.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
Officers located and arrested a suspect on Richmond Street shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday. The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
