Many at Risk During Extreme Heat

A special weather statement is in effect for Chatham-Kent this weekend as temperatures rise to 30 degrees Celsius or 86 Fahrenheit.

Environment Canada encourages everyone to stay cool by drinking lots of cool liquids, dressing for the weather, and spending time in a cool place for a few hours each day.

Those most at risk are older adults, young children, infants, and people with chronic illnesses.

Most of Chatham-Kent will reach a high of 30 today, and 29 to 32 tomorrow.
