
Three people have been arrested after masked men stole multiple cases of alcohol from a Chatham convenience store.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said two masked men entered the McNaughton Avenue West store at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, stole the alcohol and assaulted a store employee before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
The woman, who had been in the store before the robbery, was also seen fleeing the scene with the two men.
The employee was taken to hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.
Authorities reviewed video surveillance footage of the robbery and located three suspects at a Grand Avenue West residence at around 3 a.m.
Two men from Chatham-Kent, aged 20 and 21, and a 40-year-old Blenheim woman were arrested and are charged with robbery with theft and wearing a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence. All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
