Damage is pegged at $2-million following a barn fire near Newbury over the weekend.

Emergency crews responded to the blaze late Saturday night with more than 50 fire fighters on scene from various stations around the area.

No people or animals were hurt, however reports say the farmer lost as many as 400 square bales of hay, farm equipment, two barns, and three silos in the blaze, along with all of his winter feed.

It’s believed the flames started in the feed room, although an official cause has not been determined.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been notified.
