Mayor Darrin Canniff is commending the community leaders of both Walpole Island First Nations and Delaware Nations at Moraviantown for their recent actions to help slow the spread of COVID-19 locally.
In a written statement, Canniff expressed his “full and complete support” of the actions taken by council to close their communities to non-essential travel.
“Both of you are playing a key leadership role in protecting your communities,” added the Mayor, in reference to Chief Dan Miskokomon of Walpole Island First Nation and Chief Denise Stonefish of Delaware Nation at Moraviantown.
The mayor continues to urge all C-K residents to do their part.
Canniff says with the help and cooperation of the members of our communities, we will emerge from this situation with the least amount of impact possible.
