Chatham-Kent’s Council’s newest member will be sworn in during what will be her first meeting representing the residents of East Kent.
Moréna McDonald will officially assume her new role as Ward 3 councillor on Monday during a swearing in ceremony ahead of the evening’s council meeting.
She replaces former Councillor Steve Pinsonneault, who recently left municipal politics after being elected as the MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Earlier this month, council voted in favour of appointing McDonald to the position, rather than hold a by-election. McDonald was the third place candidate and runner up in East Kent during the 2022 municipal election.
