The long awaited McHappy Day is back on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021. We invite Chatham-Kent and surrounding communities to visit their local McDonald’s Restaurant and help keep families close to their child’s medical care far from home. While the celebration may look slightly different due to Covid-19 protocols, there are some exciting new ways to show your McHappy Day support this year!
• On Wednesday, September 22, a portion of proceeds from ALL McDonald’s Canada menu items ALL day will help families with sick children supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in your community
• You can place your order through the McDonald’s mobile app or order McDelivery through Door Dash and Skip The Dishes.
• McHappy Day Hearts are now available for a $2 donation. Each heart contains a special video message from an RMHC family or celebrity.
Each year, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Southwestern Ontario supports thousands of families traveling to London and Windsor for medical care through three core programs – RMH London, RMH Windsor and the RM Family Room London. Together, these programs provide savings of up to 4.6 million dollars each year in lodging, meals, and travel. *RBC Economic Impact Study 2019
During the last 5 years, more than 330 Chatham-Kent families have stayed close with RMH London or RMH Windsor. Families like Evan’s, whose family has spent 160 nights at RMH after he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014.
Staying at RMH London saved them the long commute back and forth to Chatham and provided them with all the comforts of home to ease some of their stress.
Thanks to the generous support of our local McDonald’s franchisees, corporate sponsors, and the community, we can support families and help to alleviate the emotional and financial stress of caring for a sick child. With YOUR support on McHappy Day – we can help even more families stay close!
