Registered nurses employed by Meadow Park Nursing Home have ratified a two-year collective agreement.

The ten nurses at the long term care home in Chatham represented by the Southwestern Ontario Healthcare and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303 voted unanimously in favour of the agreement.

The new contract will provide them with wages that are aligned with those in the Ontario Nurses Association (ONA) master wage schedule, including parity with allowances and premiums.

“This is the second contract we’ve negotiated for the RNs at Meadow Park,” says Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) representative, Mary Ellen Alward.

“We’re happy to see that the employer continued to negotiate the monetary provisions to match ONA’s master agreement. We look forward to the members moving to the new wage schedule during the life of this contract.”
