A pair of heritage properties have opened their doors, inviting visitors to take a step back in time.
The Milner Heritage House in Chatham and Ridge House Museum in Ridgetown have reopened for the season.
Milner House offers guided tours, giving guests a glimpse at life in 1905. A number of special events and exhibits are planned for the summer, including Specimens & Storytellers: Local Birds through Science & Art, an exhibit exploring Chatham-Kent’s rich natural heritage. Meantime in Ridgetown, the Ridge House Museum offers a look at middle-class life in 1875. The Sculpted By Ice exhibit in the Discovery Den goes back even further to the last Ice Age, exploring the Wisconsin glacial episode and how its legacy continues to shape the Ridgetown area.. The museum will also host two special events this summer: Dominion Day on June 27 and Frozen Fest on August 22.
Both the Milner House and Ridge House Museum are open to drop-in visitors through August 30, Wednesday through Sunday, 11AM – 4PM, and Saturday, 10AM – 6PM with admission by donation.
