Minor Flooding Possible Overnight

With above-freezing temperatures and mixed precipitation expected, conservation officials are warning of possible minor flooding.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority issued a watershed conditions statement on Monday ahead of up to 15 mm of overnight rainfall, along with less than 5 cm of snowfall.

According to the conservation authority, water levels on the lake remain elevated and the ground is generally saturated from recent freezing rain and snowmelt. With the additional precipitation expected overnight, increased runoff and ponding are possible.

Residents in the area are advised to avoid watercourses and flooded areas to avoid potentially dangerous conditions.
