A local family had a happy ending to a parent’s worst nightmare on Tuesday afternoon after a toddler went missing in a corn field.
Police responded to a call of a missing two-and-a-half-year-old around 3:45 pm on Tuesday on Pioneer Line.
Police say the little man wandered from his home into a nearby corn field.
Members of Community Patrol, CIRT and K9 conducted a search of the cornfield along with family and friends of the missing boy. The UAS drone was also deployed to assist.
The boy was located by a neighbour, safe and healthy in the field just before 5PM.
Inspector Mike Domony says the search for the missing boy was a great example of how a community comes together.
“Most importantly, the boy was found safe and in good health, which is the outcome that we were all hoping for. This incident required teamwork between our Emergency Communications Centre, officers on scene along with members of the family and public. It is at these times, that we are thankful for the excellent support and assistance we receive from the community.”
