The success of the mobile drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinic in Wallaceburg may see a similar set-up continue across Chatham-Kent.
CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall tells 99.1 the three-day swabbing clinic in Wallaceburg is showing a demand for this form of testing in the community. Marshall says the drive-thru clinic appears to be a successful model.
“We’re continuing to evaluate the potential for additional testing over the course of these few days,” says Marshall. “We’ll evaluate from two perspectives. One on whether or not we need to do more testing in Wallaceburg and then the second would be, is this a model we can take around to different communities within Chatham-Kent?”
Through the first two days of the clinic, 333 tests have been conducted in Wallaceburg. In comparison, the COVID-19 assessment centre typically tests 60-65 people per day.
The COVID-19 mobile drive-thru testing clinic wraps up at Wallaceburg’s CKHA site on Saturday at 5PM.
