Mobile Miracle Market Kicks Off Today

Today marks the official launch of the Mobile Miracle Market, getting fresh, local produce to those in need around the community.

Phillip Mock is the project coordinator for the Prosperity Roundtable, and says the idea was borne out of the generosity of Chatham-Kent residents during the May 16th Miracle.

“We know that people need access to fresh, local produce,” Mock says. “It’s one of the most expensive items to buy in the grocery store, and we want to make sure, especially when a time when health is so important, everyone’s able to thrive in our community.”

The Mobile Market will be in Wheatley and Merlin on Tuesdays to hand out produce boxes, expanding to Thamesville, Bothwell, and Highgate on Wednesdays.

Over the coming weeks, the Mobile Market will begin to expand to cover Ridgetown, Blenheim, Dresden, Wallaceburg, Pain Court, Tilbury, and Chatham. Plans are also in the works to reach Shrewsbury, North Buxton, and other communities across Chatham-Kent.
