As work wraps up on repairs to the Murray Street Bridge, municipal officials are looking ahead to the next big construction project in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent’s manager of Engineering for Roads and Bridges, Brendan Falkner says the Dufferin Avenue rehabilitation project includes the stretch of road from McNaughton to the west limits of town.
The project will go before municipal council for approval on May 8th, and then be up for approval from the Public Utilities Commission on May 18th.
The province has already committed $3-million in Connecting Links funding to the project.
Meantime, municipal officials are also preparing to repair the LO Stonehouse pedestrian bridge. Falkner says the Environmental Assessment (EA) is wrapping up and is out for public review. Once the EA has been completed, the project will be ready for tender.
