More COVID Cases Across CK

Another uptick in cases of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent.

Today’s weekly report from CK Public Health shows 101 new cases reported between September 11th and the 17th, raising the seven-day average to 15 new high risk cases a day.

Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate has slipped to 11.8%, down slightly from 12.8% a week ago. The provincial rate sits at 11.3%.

Three new outbreaks have been declared in the past week, affecting a group home, St Andrew’s Residence and Chatham Retirement Resort. There are now six long term care or retirement homes in outbreak across the municipality.

Since the pandemic was declared in March, 2020, there have been a total of 9736 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Chatham-Kent and 86 deaths caused by the virus.
