More Days Off For Students This Week

With talks between the province and public elementary teachers breaking down on Friday, it appears there’s not much hope of avoiding two strike days for local students this week.

Rotating strikes continue this week, affecting the Lambton Kent District School Board tomorrow, and a province-wide walkout is be held on Thursday.

Meantime, public high school teachers and all English Catholic teachers will be on strike tomorrow as well.

And while the union representing teaching staff at Conseil scolaire catholique Providence is still on a work-to-rule strike, schools in Chatham-Kent are not targeted by these rotating strikes.

Class size, student supports, and e-learning remain the stumbling blocks for the unions, while the province maintains it’s all about money.
