A development boom in Chatham-Kent shows no signs of slowing down.
Speaking during Thursday’s annual general meeting of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Darrin Canniff said this week alone, a number of potential developers paid a visit to the municipality.
“On Monday and Tuesday, we met with four different businesses, one from Germany, one from the United States, two from Toronto, all looking to locate here, to buy our land, to bring their business here or expand their businesses.”
Canniff said while not all of those potential developments will come to fruition, the interest in Chatham-Kent is encouraging.
“They’re the ones reaching out to us to come here,” Canniff said.
Whether it is residential, commercial, or industrial, Canniff believes any growth opportunity in Chatham-Kent is good news for small businesses and the economy as a whole.
