More Drugs Seized in Chatham

Another major drug bust in Chatham.

When officers arrived at the Wellington Street East house yesterday, one of the suspects tried to drive away from the scene, but was stopped. A search turned up suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, digital scales and large amount of cash.

Inside the home, officers discovered more drugs, scales, and cash.

In all, about $25,600 worth of drugs were seized.

A man and woman are now facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

It’s the second drug bust on Wellington Street East in the last week. On Tuesday, officers raided two homes on Wellington and Gray Streets, seizing $36,000 in illegal substances.
