More Flooding With Weekend Wind, Rain

With over 50 mm of rain over the weekend, the St Clair Conservation Authority is keeping close tabs on area waterways.

Officials say there’s the potential for localized flooding in floodplain areas, parks, and farm fields, and saturated ground could contribute to ponding and increased runoff and the potential for erosion.

Residents are reminded to avoid slippery river banks and keep kids and pets away from the water.

Meantime to the south, residents along Erie Shore Drive are continuing to clean up after strong winds and pounding waves caused more flooding over the weekend.

Several homes were flooded out with water seeping over the road at several spots.

The winds shifted early-afternoon on Sunday, giving residents a bit of a reprieve.
