More Greenhouses, Jobs, Businesses, CK Report Reveals

From Corporate Annual Report 2016

Chatham-Kent’s Chief Administrative Officer is reflecting back on 2016.

Don Shropshire has compiled a report outlining the municipality’s growth and areas of improvement.

In the report, Chatham-Kent’s population declined by 2% last year, but more people are working.

Since 2001, the number of acres of greenhouses has increased 10 times, and Chatham-Kent is second among the most affordable places to do business in Canada.

Shropshire’s report also reveals that less garbage is being generated, and more electronics are being diverted from landfills.

While the average household income in Chatham-Kent is lower than the provincial average, 93% of residents are satisfied with their life in general.

More statistics can be found in the full report.
