Chatham-Kent Council has approved a rezoning application for a proposed six-unit row house on Murray Street in Wallaceburg at last night’s planning meeting.
The row house development will be built across from Holy Family Church. There is currently a house on the property, but it will be torn down to make way for the row house development, with each unit having a garage and a parking spot. The zoning bylaw amendment will permit the redevelopment of the property for medium density residential use.
A rezoning application for a proposed 20-unit apartment complex on King Street in Chatham was also approved, with the applicant planning on applying for non-municipal grant funding to make the units subsidized for affordable dwelling units.
Council also gave the go-ahead to a rezoning application for a six-unit apartment on Harvey Street in Chatham.
