More Rain on the Way

The wind has calmed down, but with more rain in the way, local conservationists are remaining vigilant when it comes to the Lake Erie shoreline.

Strong waves crashed against the shore yesterday, causing flooding in some areas – a section of Erie Shore Drive was shut down for several hours yesterday.

Officials with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority say residents along the bluff should stay away from the edge, and residents are urged to keep children, pets, and livestock away from the shoreline.

A special weather statement from Environment Canada says we could see as much as 50 mm of rain by the end of the week.
